Back in May, Dell launched the Inspiron Gaming Desktop, offering high-performance gaming at a more competitive price. For CES, the firm is introducing a new model, the Inspiron Gaming Desktop 5680.
Most notably, it contains Intel's new eighth-generation desktop processors, so if you go for a Core i5 or Core i7, it will be hexa-core, whereas the seventh generation was quad-core. If you go for the Core i3, that's now quad-core, whereas the seventh generation was dual-core.
In terms of graphics, it comes with up to an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 with 8GB GDDR5, although there are lesser options for a GTX 1060 with 3GB GDDR5 or even a GTX 1050 with 2GB GDDR5. You can get it with up to 16GB DDR4 2400MHz RAM, although the system supports up to 64GB, and you can also have it configured with an Intel Optane accelerated hard drive.
It also includes SmartByte, a technology that optimizes your internet connection for streaming video, when you're doing so. It works similar to how Killer Wi-Fi works for gaming, allowing for less buffering time and higher resolution streams.

For audio, it includes a Performance 7.1 Channel HD sound card and Waves MaxxAudio Pro software. These provide enhanced volume and bass, and also reduce background noise for the microphone.
