The Acer Revo RL100 comes with the Microsoft Windows 7 operating system preinstalled. In the event that the operating system becomes corrupted or otherwise unusable, you can reload the operating system back to its factory default configurations using the steps below.

Note: During the recovery process, all data stored on your computer will be deleted. This means that all of you files such as documents, pictures, videos and music will be erased. Acer strongly recommends backing up any personal and important data before starting the recovery process.

To start Acer eRecovery:

  1. Restart the computer.
  2. When the Acer Revo logo appears on the screen, if you are using a standard USB keyboard, press the ALT and F10 keys repeatedly. If you are using the dual mode wireless touchpad/keyboard, press ALT+FN+F10.
  3. If you are prompted with a Microsoft Windows boot screen, press the ENTER key.
  4. After the Acer eRecovery application has loaded, follow the on-screen prompts to reinstall the operating system.

If the ability to reinstall from the previous method is not available or fails, recovery of the Operating System will need to be from Recovery Discs. If you did not create a set of Recovery Discs, you may purchase the set online from the Acer Recovery Media Order Form.

  1. Restart the computer.
  2. When the Acer Revo logo appears on the screen, press the DEL key on a standard USB keyboard connected to the computer, or the DEL key on the dual mode wireless touchpad/keyboard to enter the computer’s BIOS menu.
  3. Press the optical drive eject button and insert the disc labeled System CD or Disc 1.
  4. Using the arrow keys on the keyboard, navigate to Advanced BIOS Features and press ENTER.
  5. Using the arrow keys, navigate to 1st Boot Device. On a USB keyboard, use the + key to make the optical drive the first boot device. On the dual mode wireless touchpad/keyboard, use SHIFT and + keys to perform the same function.
  6. Once the first boot device is set, press the F10 key to save and exit the BIOS. On the dual mode wireless touchpad/keyboard, press the FN+F10 keys to perform the same function.

At this point, the computer will boot from the System disc. Follow the on screen prompts to enter the remaining Recovery discs and complete the reloading of your computer.

    You can try restoring the driver using the instructions at http://acer.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/42. If that does not resolve your issue, you may try contacting warranty support for your region to inquire about ordering a new remote.

  • I had same problem tried all solutions above apart from purchasing spare nothing worked.

    Disconnected every thing then reconnected and rebooted now it is working

    You can try synchronizing the touchpad to see if it resolves your issue. To sync the touchpad, remove it from the system and press and hold the Sync button on the top right corner of the touchpad. While you are holding the sync button on the touchpad, press the Sync button on the USB receiver. The button is small and clear and you may need to use a paper clip to gently press it. You can find an image to locate the USB receiver on the link below.
